I had version 3.35 of DVDPixPlay (licensed) running on Windows XP which did everything I wanted and I really liked. I have upgraded to Windows 7 and downloaded DVDPixPlay 8. I put together a simple slideshow to test the new version.

I primarily use DVDPixPlay for presentations where I want to manually control the transition from one frame to another. I have a mixture of photos and video clips (AVIs). In version 3.35 it worked fine; I got nice transitions from video to photo. So I used the PC Format option in Burn Disk with the option Do not automatically advance etc. checked and no navigation buttons. When I run PixPlayViewer on the output I am having problems with the transition from a video clip to a photo. Just before the transition from video, the lower portion of the video goes black and a white rectangle appears in the bottom left hand corner of the video. The next photo is fine.

I downloaded the codecs and the video itself is fine (sound and picture).

I see that the properties of photos after a video clip are different to those after another photo. After a video clip the transition option (bottom right hand corner) is unavailable. On other photos it is available and set at default.

As soon as I resolve this issue I will buy version 8.

Hi

I'm afraid we cannot reproduce this. Does it only happen with that specific video file, or any videos that you play first?

I have done some more testing:

1. even in v3.35, the the properties of photos after a video clip are different to those after another photo. After a video clip the transition option (bottom right hand corner) is unavailable. On other photos it is available and set at default. So I don't think this is the problem.

2. In v3.35 DVDPixPlay just pointed to the photos and video clips. In v8 it appears that it copies the photos to DVDPixPlay Projects in My Documents which seems to be a waste of space.

3. I took my PC Format files plus PixPlayViewer from my Windows 7/v8 laptop and played them on my XP/v3.35 laptop. Same problem.

4. I tried another test slideshow with the same results. I also tried converting to wmv but same problem. I cut my video clips to 4 secs. and compressed some photos so if you want I could probably E-mail them to you. About 14mb. Plus I could add the pxp file.

Could I download v7 to see if it had the same problem?

Hi

1. That is correct. DVD PixPlay does not have a transition from video to image

2. That is a setting you can configure under option under View > Options

If you email me I can send you a download link to v7, however #1 is the same in all DVD PixPlay versions.
