In order to make custom fields automap to fields in an import file, they must have the same name (and not match one of the existing mailing list fields).

Hi Nigel Thats correct
however I am unable to change the name of existing custom MLK Field to match that of new about to be used fields in say Outlook
MLK only seems to give me the option of deleting the field and therefore possibly deleting all the data in that field throughout the database and then i must recreate the field and repopulate the data -
not a good idea
I would simply like to rename/ edit the field

Thanks

Hi

Are you using an old version of MLK?

The current version allows you to rename custom fields by selecting Custom Fields, Edit Custom Fields, in the Member Properties dialog.

Hi

There was a major enhancement to MLK that enhanced custom fields support. Your request is not possible in your older version.
