I was asked to give a talk on Frida Kahlo, the painter. I would like to accompany my talk with a slide show of for paintings. however, as this talk will be interactive I want to show the paintings at the moment I am talking about them and not for set intervals.

I know how to make a show where easch slide is shown for a different period of time from the preceding; however I must specify the number of seconds. As I cannot foresee the exact number of seconds I will show each slide is it possible to make a show where I simply advance the pictures manually one by one for whatever time I need?

Thanks

For widest compatibility DVD format slideshows are in a movie format and thus advancing is automatic.

However if you choose PC format (File > Burn Slideshow) then you can choose a "Manual navigation" option which provides many more options such as toolbar, printing, etc. This option is found on page 2 of 3 following choosing PC format.

Thanks ever so much Jim. I shall certainly try the PC formatas you suggest. Once the slide show is prepared can I merely connect my computer to my TV screen and show it there? If so, which size should I choose? Once again, thanks for the help and info.

Hi Jocelyn

Another thing that you can do if you need DVD format is to specify very long display times, e.g. 1 minute per frame. Then you can use >| on your DVD remote to navigate to the next frame.
