 Text Lightning with Outlook 2003

What versions of Outlook is Text Lightning supposed to work with.

I just downloaded 2.0 and installed it. The install went cleanly but I can't find any evidence of it in my Outlook 2003.

Hi

Text Lightning should work with any version from Outlook 2000 - Outlook 2010 32 bit.

Have you tried right-clicking on a blank area of the toolbar to see if it is listed (but not enabled)?

If not, try selecting Help > About in Outlook, click the Disabled Items button and check that the Toolbar is not listed there.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled with the same result.

No errors raised by the installer. The folder is created and populated in the Start Menu. But no trace of Text Lightning in Outlook.

It does not appear on a context menu for the tool bars, so I can't enable it there. It does not appear in the Disabled Items list accessed from Help, About. It does not appear the Add-In Manager or the COM Add-Ins list.

Hmmm, that is odd.

I'm having a very similar issue. I installed it, and started using it (love it, by the way), and it was great. However, after a restart of my PC, I opened Outlook (2007) and Text Lighning has vanished. It's not in the toolbar or the add-ons. And it is still on the start menu (help/support/website).

Likewise I logged onto a different PC in the office as Admin so I could install it, but when my staff member logged back on to their standard profile, it wasn't in outlook and, again, couldn't find it.

Have you got a new solution to this now?

Hi

To clarify, in Outlook Options, Add-In tab it is not listed at all? Even in the disabled items list?

Have you also checked that your anti-virus software has not mis-flagged it?

Sorry to revive an old post, but I have the same situation. Windows 7 64 bit, Office 2010 32 bit. Text Lightning shows in the Start menu but nothing in Outlook. Nothing in Add-ons, disabled or otherwise. Have restarted, uninstalled/reinstalled under the Admin account. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi

Are you sure it's the 32bit version of Outlook?

Try:

1. In the Windows start menu, type CMD
2. Right-click cmd.exe and select "Run as Admin"
3. Type (or paste using the right-click menu):

regsvr32 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Text Lightning\XLightning.dll"

4. Restart Outlook

Hello,

I got the same issue, Windows 7 32 bits Outlook 2010 32bits.
Tried the regserv32 tip, Give me an error because I don't have a x86 program files, wich is normal.
So i tried this regsvr32 cmd instead :regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Text Lightning\XLightning.dll"
And Windows says successfull...

Reboot the computer still nothing...

Textlighting is present on folders and startmenu, Try to add it to the ribbon but Outlook doesn't seem to see it...

I'm afraid I don't have any ideas. You could try disabling your anti-virus software as a test, but I doubt that would be a factor.
