Hi

We've some emails over the last few weeks asking how to convert old VCD disks to DVD format.

Firstly, if you created the VCD with PixPlay then you are better to re-open the old project with PixPlay and re-burn it using DVD format as that will get the best result.

However the emails we had were about converting non-PixPlay VCD disks so I wanted to advise the correct procedure:

1. Insert your VCD disk and open it in Windows Explorer. Browse to the folder MPEGAV. That folder will contain one or more files with the .dat extension (for SVCD disks they will have the .mpg extension). Copy these files to a folder on your computer.
2. Rename the .dat files to .mpg
3. Run DVD PixPlay, create a new project and click "Add Images"
4. Browse to your new folder containing your video(s) and them
5. Select File > Burn Slideshow
6. Choose DVD format and burn to a DVD disk
