I have installed the new release and can not get any of my shows to play the music. I've double checked that my system is working right. Both in the preview and test music fail in the installed program. Even the background.mp3 installed will not play. If I double click on the file it will play in my windows media player. Lastest version of VISTA. Have already re-installed. Same result.

If you have a format which you cannot play in DVD PIXPLAY but can play in other software on your system, then it is possible that another MCI driver is being used, which is causing problems.

Please download the MCI Tester, run it. Select the option to reset the Widows PLAYER defaults. Many multimedia programs try to take over the showing of the media files and this program that Nigel developed years ago returns Windows to its proper settings.

After you reboot your system try burning the slideshow again.

These are songs that have already been playing in old shows I put together in release 3 and 4. Unable to update win.ini with check program.

Hi Ron

What else has changed on your system since you were able to play music in DVD PixPlay?

I assume the music still plays when you select File > Burn Slideshow and click the "Test" button.

I restored my system back 60 days and the problem disappeared. Then re-installed release 5.0 and everything is working. Only the shadow knows! Thanks for your quick help.

Possibly, some multimedia software or drivers were installed that messed things up???
