In the past, I've always burned VCDs because I never had a DVD burner. They worked well. I now have a DVD burner for my desktop, and my wife got a laptop with a DVD burner. I recently completed a slideshow with a combination of still photos and movie clips. And as usual, I included background music. I burned a DVD and when the program transitions from one slide to the next, or from the end of a movie clip to the next slide, the music gets choppy and breaks up. After the transition, it returns to normal. I burned the same show on a different pc and then played each in 2 different DVD players. All had the music transition problem. What am I doing wrong?

Hi

Try going into View>Options, Advanced and changing the DVD MPEG Audio Setting.

Also specify the highest quality encoding option (using the Alternate encoder) on Step 3 of the "Burn Disk" wizard.

If those two fail to resolve it then you may need to change the background music files that you are using.

Your solution worked like a champ. Thank you very much.
While I have your attention, is there anyway to have a caption on the screen while a video clip is running? And anyway to reduce the background music so the sound from the video clip can be heard?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Poppy

For my information, can you advise which of the fixes resolved the problem.

There is no option available to display a caption for video files at this time.

When the disk is burned the soundtrack and background music are not played simultaneously. Presently DVD PixPlay can only use the sound track of the videos in a slideshow if there are no images except after the final video. So to hear the video soundtrack you will need to do as follows:

i. Select Edit>Other>Move Videos to Start
ii. Select Edit>Select Background Music on the menu
iii. On the dialog that is displayed choose the option to use the video soundtrack as the source of the slideshow sound (if you are presented with the usual background music dialog, rather than a window with the title "Video Soundtrack" then there are still images or title pages that are remaining in your project).

We will address this limitation for a coming update.

Nigel,

I left the “Audio format for DVD compliant MPEGs” at “MPEG Layer 2” and unchecked “Use SPTI transport for burning disks” even though I'm running Windows XP Professional.

I also set "Output quality" to "Highest with alternate encoder" in Step 3 of the "Burn Disk" wizard.

Thanks again for the prompt, and very useful information
