I have just burned a DVD which needed accurate synch of sound. The preview and DVD were good. I then used the same project file to burn a disc in image format to run on a computer. The show runs for approx 15mins, and by the end it is about 6secs out of synch - ruining the effect. Is there anything I can do to prevent this problem, which only occurs with image format.
Many thanks, Peter |

Under View>options>general make sure you check the box for "use accurate time" before you burn the disc.
Make sure the time given for your slides matches the time for your audio EXACTLY. For example, if it says the slide show is 15:25 then the audio or music should say 15:25. If it doesn't, PixPlay will try to make them fit, and the timing you saw during preview won't necessarily be what you get when you burn to disk.
If it does not play correctly on your PC it is probably due to the amount of memory you have on the computer. Large images can cause the PC to run slower and the screen compression speed will be slower than the sound.
Try this.........Try increasing the video hardware acceleration. There are two video hardware acceleration settings—one in the WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER, and one in the Windows operating system. You must change both settings.
To change the setting in the Player, on the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Performance tab. Move the Video acceleration slider to Full.
To change the setting in Windows, click Start, click Control Panel, double-click Display, click the Settings tab, click Advanced, and then click the Troubleshoot tab. Move the Hardware acceleration slider to Full.

Also, for Image Slideshows make sure you go into "Other Options" (on Step 2 of the Burn Disk wizard) and set:
Optimize Playback to: Start each frame at the designed time

Jim and Nigel, Thank you for your quick responses. On my original show, I had inserted a blank frame at the end, without music. I have removed that so that the show length and music lengths match exactly. I have produced an image file and copied it to a pen drive and it plays perfectly. I also burned a CD, and although it was much better than my original CD, it still went out of synch towards the end (after about 11mins). The problem is now solved - I'll use a pen drive!
Regards, Peter |
