I am finding that when I go to the select groups tab, it is automatically searching for the groups, with out me clicking the "Display Groups' button. This is becoming rather annoying as I have close to 700k names and it takes ~20 minutes to complete a search.

Is this something that I have enabled in the options or something that was changed in the last update? As I recall, this was not happening before.

Hi Justus

Under View>Options, Other, what do you have specified for "Disable automatic searching when changing tabs or selecting groups"?

Hi,

I have it disabled (with a check)

I enabled it and saved it and then rechecked it and then saved it. I wonder maybe if the setting maybe was corrupted or something. I'll continue to monitor it and update you if anything changes.. er doesn't change.

OK, please let me know if you work out the pattern and we'll look into it for the next update.

OK, one thing I noticed, If you are on the 'Select Groups' tab and add a name to the DB, it researches for your results.

I wonder if this has been the issue all along. If I have the Select Groups tab open and messages are automatically processed, it would then re-search the DB for those groups. ???

Worth looking into at least.

OK, Just now, I had the MLK down to the sys tray and restored it. Once it was up, it was on 'All Mailing List' tab. I clicked the 'Select Groups' tab and it automatically started searching for the groups. :-(

I think this could still be due to MLK automatically processing mail then when the page is reloaded it sees that there have been changes to the DB and thus researches for the groups.

Would LOVE to see at lease a cancel button if not ONLY allow it to search when initiated manually.

Hi Justus

When the database changes in a way that may add records to the current search then MLK will reperform the search to ensure the results are accurate.

However we will look at more optimized way of handling this for a later upate.

I personally think a simple notice that the DB has been updated and your list may be slightly out of date would be just fine. If MLK can already tell that one of the groups listed has been updated, then why wouldn't it simply make an update to the results (displayed) as well and not re-search the whole DB?

Hi Justus

It re-searches to guarantee the results are accurate, but you're right, that level of precision is often and overkill, so we will look at better ways of handling it for a future version.
