DVD PixPlay

Hi,

I can't see a way of searching this forum - so apologies if this has already been covered.

I have a PAL TV - widescreen, 16x9 format.
I want a dvd slideshow that will fill the screen.
I have created 16x9 images using Powerpoint (pictures & text)
I have saved these as individual images, one for each Powerpoint slide(in PNG as this seems to give better results than other formats)
I then load these into PixPlay and create a DVD.

The resultant DVD shows the slides in letterbox format on the TV - wide borders top and bottom, images elongated.

To be fair Pixplay shows them like this when I look at frame properties.

If I adjust the images to suite PixPlay the TV stretches them if I want a full screen show - or shows them with side borders if I choose to avoid the distorion.

So my questions are:

How do I get a full frame image on my TV without cropping or distorting the original image?
What is the image ratio that I need for my PNG files in order to achieve this?
Can PixPlay create a widescreen compatible DVD?
Should I give up on PixPlay - if so can anyone suggest similar software to create widescreen DVDs?

For viewing on a TV do the following:

If you change the "Override Aspect Ratio" setting to "TV" (4.3)under View>Options>Other Options>Advance Options>Compatability Options, and check the Override Mpeg internal aspect ration flag with TV(from the drop down box), does that make any difference?

In the frame properties window:

You should still crop your images to the DVD ratio. The "Override Aspect Ratio" setting only controls how the pixels of the image are displayed (e.g. square or rectangular), not the actual dimensions of the image/frame.

Also, how about if you enable the widescreen option by clicking the "Other" button on step 2 of the Burn Slideshow wizard?
