Nigel,

I'm running into a new problem lately. I have a birthday greeting set up for many of my subscribers. However, lately I've noticed when I check the outgoing messages, the variable field for the person's first name isn't being filled in - it just stays as the variable %FirstName%. If I send a test message using the EXACT same template, MLK properly inserts the recipients' first names.

I've tried deleting and reinsering the entire message for the birthday greeting.

So why isn't the first name being inserted when the message is being run automatically?

Hi Ian

It is more likely it is failing to personalize the message at all. Can you generate a debug log for me when this has occured and send it to me (I'll email you the instructions).

Nigel,

The birthday greeting form only has one variable; the person's first name.

Hi Ian

Are other fields in the same message being filled, or this is this the only field?
