Posted - Apr 20 2009 : 06:58:02 Have been having problems mailing out through a new version of Norton 360. Symantec/Norton are reinstalling the package, but are there any obvious problems that you know about?
Emails appear to be leaving Outlook only not to appear at the other end. Probably a problem with their Firewall set up? |

"451 Too Many Messages" could either be from your ISP for exceeding their sending limit, or - less likely - a destination server if they get too many connections from you in a short period.
Have you checked with your ISP whether they have a sending limit?

Posted - Apr 21 2009 : 08:21:31 Nigel, The only thing that has changed is the move to Norton 360. It's as though it has grabbed a lot of extra memory, squeezing MLK in the process. Small MLK mailings go out OK Before upgrading to Norton 360, I would push through 500 shots through Outlook at a time, without any problems. With 360, even with the scanning of outward emails turned off, I've been getting emails rejected in two ways: (1) I get a lot of messages from (I assume) Outlook saying "Your message could not be delivered .......... 451 Too Many Messages" - and when this happens it looks as though the messages which get out of Outlook don't actually turn up anywhere. (2) once I send too many messages to Outlook at one time (last night I was getting into trouble with 20-30 in the Outbox), Norton becomes very intrusive - even getting Norton technicians to try to help (they reinstalled 360, but I got left with the same problems).
I'm now going to try putting a 2000+ mailing out, sending them out at 10 seconds intervals, with email screening firmly turned off.
Will report back - and will keep better recrods of Norton's responses.
Cheers
Louis

Are all emails sent from Outlook disappearing or just the ones created by MLK?
Is the installation of the new version of Norton 360 the only thing that has changed on your system since it worked?
