Posted - Oct 16 2011 : 12:32:02 OK, so we have confirmed that the fault is with the drivers your system uses when playing back mp3 files during a preview (NOTE: The codec is only used when previewing, you can burn your slideshow with background music without it).
The easiest solution is to install a codec pack such as K-Lite Mega:

Posted - Oct 14 2011 : 04:48:46 I hadn't added any music but the default soundtrack was selected so got rid of it as you suggested and brill it works fine does this mean I cannot add any music to slideshow I don’t mind but would be nice |

Posted - Oct 14 2011 : 00:53:52 Can you confirm that if you remove all your background music (Edit > Slideshow, Music) that the crash goes away?

Posted - Oct 12 2011 : 13:11:28 Hi
It looks like your audio drivers are crashing.
Please download the MCI Tester, run it and let us know what results you get for MP3:
