Greetings all you experts!
I'm fairly computer literate, but video and burn ignorant for the most part.
I've created a slide show of mostly jpeg files, with 10 video's that have been converted to MPEG (1) files. The project will preview fine with music, timing, etc just the way I want it.
But when I go to burn the file the only output I can get is PC format (to a file), no other DVD, or CD format will burn or even save to disk. The test feature of the Burn section only works in PC format also.
The error I get is:
"Conversion failed! DVD PixPlay could not locate WMV drivers on your system to convert a WMV file."

I have Nero (6) on my system, and used it to backup all of my pictures to DVD just yesterday and that appeared to work.
I am using XP but the 64 bit version on this computer. I can usually track down most driver problems, but I don't know where to start on this issue.
Any suggestions would be most helpful.

Hi Mark
That DLL is only required when using WMV format. You won't encounter any problems by removing it.
Regarding your playback issue, have you tried specifying the highest quality encoding option (using the Alternate encoder) on Step 3 of the "Burn Disk" wizard?
Also, try going into View>Options, Advanced and changing the DVD MPEG Audio Setting as that can affect playback on some players.

Three things to try:
- Specify the highest quality encoding option (using the Alternate encoder) on Step 3 of the "Burn Disk" wizard.
- Change the type of disk you are using (e.g. DVD+R instead of DVD-R if your player/burner support it).
- Try going into View>Options, Advanced and changing the DVD MPEG Audio Setting.

Any further information on this issue? Will the dll removal cause some issue with something else in the future?
On a side note, I noticed that occasionally during the playback of the video on a dvd player it will pause, sometimes it will hang and the dvd will have to be turned off. I thought it was my old dvd player, but it has happened on new ones and other brands, sometimes not as frequently, but still noticable.
Any suggestions?

Just an update.
Nigel asked me to delete the libwmv-1.0.4.dll file from C:\Program Files\DVD PixPlay\ that was causing the error and the software worked great, if it missed that dll it didn't act like it.
On a positive note, I would like to express my appreciation for Nigel and his help on resolving this problem, this is a nice piece of software for a good price I'm glad I purchased it.

Sorry, I tried this before, and again just now. No difference, same error message.
It probably is a windows issue, wish I knew what to repair.

Something is probably messed up in Windows. Please download the MCI Tester, from this link:

Reset the Windows Player to the defaults.

Well for what it is worth, I stripped all of the video's leaving only the JPEG and any title screens I had put in the slideshow using PixPlay and it gives the same error on a burn. I'm confused.

Sorry, I've already converted the files to MPEG, they were MOV files.
The DLL that is having the exception error is in the PixPlay directory.

Does your slideshow contain WMV files? WMV conversion relies on the drivers on your system so can fail if the drivers are not available.
You might want to try converting them to a support that is natively supported by DVD PixPlay, such as MPEG or AVI. Try converting your 10 videos using the following websites. Not all MPEG CONVERTORS are equal.
