Hi, I have multiple groups within one of several databases. In one group of n=123, I did not want to send the mailer to 5 individuals. I thought to set them as "VACATION ON" as I really do not want them to receive a copy of the mailer (they already received it through another channel). On screen, I could see that my group of 123 can be displayed in two sections: one with 118 names under "VACATION:FALSE" and another 5 names under the section called "VACATION:TRUE".
When the main group is selected with "SEND EMAIL", the send mail window opened with the name of group being correct, but the data line showed "Details: 123 unique recipients, 1 Recipient per email, 123 Emails".
In fact, when I previewed the 123 individual emails, the ones I wanted exclusion ("VACATION:TRUE") were still slated to receive the mailer.
Am I not using the Vacation Mode correctly?
Also, it would be great if a NEW WINDOW is opened when we press "SEND EMAIL", much like when "OPTIONS" or "SENDING TASKS" are selected (i.e. they opened up in new windows). Whenever I needed to go back to the main screen (to double-check something or other reasons), I could not do so without cancelling the SEND EMAIL set-up screen.
Thanks for your help! |

Hi
The initial count that is shown when clicking the "Send Email" button is only an estimate which does not include any exclusions. An accurate count is not shown until clicking sending the message, because the process of generating the sending list can be slow and it best performed as required rather than when intially displaying the message sending window.
However when previewing it should show for the Vacation recipient a message that it "will not send to this recipient"
We will consider making the sending message dialog not modal for a future version.
