I received a message from a MLK list member who said several months ago he stopped receiving emails. (Below is from MLK's the log file. What's interesting is that eventhough the mail message doen't get delivered it;s not recoreded as undeliverable for the user.

Any ideas? I made a Wireshark trace of the last test which I will take a look at later today.

Any ideas?
Doug

Hi

You can specify your Helo name by selecting View > Options, Sending, Settings.

Sorry the Wireshark post didn't post. Take a look below, this is an SMTP issue. The host wants MLK to give a FQDN.

I've looked in MLK and can't find where the setting is.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
220 mx.hostedemail.com SMTP
HELO M-46
504 5.5.2 <M-46>: Helo command rejected: need fully-qualified hostname
Hi
Time-outs are not always due to bad addresses, usually they are due to technical failings so MLK does not mark them as undeliverable.
In this case, assuming it always happens to this user but works correctly to other users then i would expect that his mail server is rejecting your connection (presumably due to your using a local mail server).
Have you set up MLK to retry failed sendings and specified that the final send should be via normal SMTP?
