To back up the database/keywords, we just backup this folder:

Users\name\AppData\Local\Xequte\Smart Pix Manager\DB

in Win7

What about backing up the program settings?

Any thoughts on this? It's the one thing holding me up the most right now.
I saw something in the FAQ that seemed related but it didn't sound very exact/confident
and used a path example from WinXP.

Hi

Settings are stored in the registry. So you need to export the relevant registry folder to back them up:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Xequte\Smart Pix Manager

So, sounds like a yes on the DB folder question (I forgot to add a question mark, sorry).

And, for an installed program, the registry sounds right (on the program settings).

Is there any possibility for a portable program in the future? I do almost exclusively
portable nowadays.

Thanks

Hi

Sorry, yes to the DB question.

Portable has been requested by several users and is on the to-do list. For now, you can export the Xequte section of the registry, and then double-click the registy export to import it onto the new system.

I backup and share my Smart Pix database between my two main computers by putting the images and database on on a folder than OneDrive clones. Works well
