Is there a write-up available on the use of MailList King with Amazon SES? I have not been able to find very much documentation in the help files.

My specific question right now concerns how the sending limits set by Amazon SES and the settings in MailList King interact.

On the Amazon Settings tab of the Sending Profile, there is section 5 “Setting your Sending Limits.” If these are set, do they then automatically set the send rate and number of messages as specified?

What happens in MailList King when one reaches the “Max Emails per Day” limit as set in the Sending Profile? For instance, suppose I have a 20,000-record mailing list and the Max Emails per day is set to 10,000? When the 10,000th message is sent, does MailList King then pause for a day? Does it quit that mail run and display a message? How is the limit enacted?

We had been using settings elsewhere in MailList King to throttle sending rates to an SMTP server, such as sending so many messages per batch and pausing for five minutes. Should we remove those settings if using Amazon SES?

Hi Charlie

MLK will obey both the Amazon SES settings limits (as specified in the sending profile) as well as (optionally) any ISP limits you have specified under View > Options, ISP Limits.

Generally speaking, for Amazon, you only need to specify the ones in the Amazon SES sending profile.

When MLK reaches the daily limit it will pause the task and automatically continue sending at the commencement of the next sending period.
