I'm trying to use the feature "Automatically correct mistyped e-mail addresses". This would be a great feature if it would make the correct changes, but it doesn't.

For example, my country uses the characters öäüõ and š.
Sometimes the lists provided for import have these characters by mistake. MLK simply removes the character instead of replacing it with oauo and s respectively (which would be in most cases correct).

I have also noticed that MLK corrects missing domain endings (or missing dot seperator) by assuming that all domains end with 3 characters. This is not correct, as most country specific domains use only 2 characters (In my case .ee) MLK should correct these based on something more concrete than the number of characters, for example a user editable list of domain endings.

Am I missing something? Is there a place where I can customise these things?

Hi

The automatic correction option is really not one that i can recommend unless you have a small database and can check the changes that are made. For the next update I will look at tightening some of rules.

Hi

FYI, in v10.46 MLK is much more conservative with auto-correction. Only changes ones it is sure of (e.g. sales@xequtecom, sales@xequte,com, sales2xequte.com, etc.).

It also converts non-ANSI chars, e.g. sales@xequté.cöm
