Hi all,
I have the capability of taking continuous stop action pictures and I would like to put those in the slideshow where each frame flashes on the screen with a "shutter clicking " sound which I have recorded. In other words frame comes up one to two seconds simultaneously with a "click". Frame/click, frame/click etc. Of course I only want the clicking sound for each of the series of frames but the rest of the slideshow will have normal background music.

Hi Albert
Unfortunately I think you would find it difficult to time the transition and clicking audio playback.

Hi Albert May I suggest that you have a look at Audacity as a sound editing program. I have used it a lot for producing composite sound track with some success. I have never done what you are trying to do but I think that I understand what it is that you are hoping to acheive, and I believe that you could do that using Audacity to build your sound by timing your slides and getting accurate insertion points. May I suggest that you get a copy of audacity from one of these download sites (free) http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&source=hp&q=audacity+download+free&meta=&aq=0&oq=audacity and spend a bit of time exploring its facilities. If you then need help, come back and we can pool our knowledge to acheive your goal. I am sure that what you hope to do is possible but it will be a time consuming (but interesting)exercise.

Nigel,
I have both the image motion and transition disabled on all of the frames in question if that makes any difference? Albert

Bagsey,
I have the program fact is it's the one I used to record the shutter sound. When brought into DVD PixPlay it shows it to be two seconds which I time the frame accordingly. Maybe I'm not familiar enough with the program and am not doing it right in the first place? I may need some basic instructions.

I apologize for not proofreading. I'm using Dragon Naturally Speaking and I am in kind of a hurry as I am getting ready to leave on a campout for the weekend. As I understand it I think Nigel can relate to that I do appreciate the prompt replies.
(Properly proofed)?

Hi
If you create a sound file with 2 seconds of silence (minus the length of the shutter sound) and then your shutter sound, then add that as many times as required to your background music and specified all of your images have a 2 second display time, it should work largely as you like.
Make sure you go into View > Options, General and select:
Optimize playback to: Start each frame at its designed time

Might be something that could be added to the program. "Do you want a click of a shutter before each frame"

Hi,
Try as I may I can't get the shutter click to synchronize. But that's really no big deal I still get the visual effect and because this is my first time out seriously trying to put our clubs slides together I think everyone will be satisfied. (No one knows I'm doing this) Maybe next year? (If there is a next year, I'll be 75 in December)
That said, I wish to thank everyone who was gracious enough to give me a hand in this thread. I'm going to wind up with about a little over two hours of slideshow for this year. Of course I'm segmenting it using "burned multiple slideshows to disk" so people won't have to sit through the whole thing unless they want to.
Anyway, I will post what kind of reception it receives from the club. I am planning on giving them out as Christmas presents consequently it won't be finished until after our Christmas party.
