All my images are stored in a folder named ALL PHOTOS, which existed before I downloaded PixPlay. I notice that my DVD PixPlay folder includes sub-folders containing the images in my slideshows. Are these duplicates of the ALL PHOTOS images?

ALSO: I am not sure of the version number of my PixPlay (which I purchased in the last couple of weeks) and therefore don't know whether I should download Version 5.02.

Hi

You can see your version number by selecting Help > About on the main menu. At any rate, it does not hurt to re-install the latest version.

You can download v5.02 from:

www.xequte.com/pixplay/download.html

DVD PixPlay may make a copy of your photos and copy them to your project folder if:

- The photos are on a removable device such as a camera or a disk

OR

- You have enabled the photo copying option under View > Options, Folders

To answer your last question first. Open your pixplay project and click on the help menu.Go to the bottom item about DVD Pixplay and a small notice should pop up. On this it will show your version.
Pixplay will save your photos if you have the setting ticked.
Goto VIEW , Options,Folders. At the bottom half select the option from Images, Video, Music. Tick either box to save.I hope that that is clear enough but if still in doubt please come back again.

Thanks for that. Can I safely delete these duplicated files/folders without effecting my slideshows**? I assume that if I need to add images to existing slideshows I can edit the slideshows so that they don't generate duplicate files?

** I'm guessing that the slideshows are linked to the original images in the aforementioned ALL PHOTOSfolder rather than the duplicates.

Continuing from my last post, I just noticed that the duplicate folders contain not only the duplicated files but also DVD PixPlay Frames and images with _Preview added. That seems to suggest that they are needed for slideshows (?. I would hate to delete them then have to go through the laborious task of adding captions again.

Could I delete the images from the duplicate folders and just leave the
_Preview and DVD PixPlay Frames (seems unlikely).

Hi

I wouldn't recommend manually deleting any files in the project folder. If you are short on disk space use the "Clean Up" function.
