I just upgraded to DVDPixPlay 4.10 and am having some problems burning a disc. The computer runs Windows XP SP1. I have a short slide show, 53 slides at 5 sec each.
On DVD: Preparation runs to "multiplexing 100%", slideshow generation completed, then an Information box shows up saying "Slideshow Conversion Error." Can't seem to get past this.
On VCD: "Unexpected write error" with the additional information:
CStarBurnScsiTransportSPTI::ExecutionCDBC():Command failed.
DVD and CD use 2 different drives. I was able to burn many shows successfully with earlier versions of PixPlay.
All advice appreciated.

This error occurs because it is impossible to burn the disk.
Make sure that your DVD/CD-Writer can write on the inserted media. For example, you can't write to a DVD on a CD-Writer. You cannot write to an 8X DVD if your DVD-Writer supports only 4X. Also the slower the burn speed the better the chance of a good burn.

Reset the Windows Player to the defaults.

Hi
You can probably resolve the CD burning problem by changing the burn method:
On the last step of the Burn Slideshow wizard (where you can select your burner) click the Advanced button and change the Burn Mode (to something other than Track at Once).
Regarding the DVD one, please reproduce and then e-mail me your log file:
C:\Program Files\DVD PixPlay\PixPlayLog.txt
Note: On Windows Vista it is located at:
C:\Users\ <YOUR WINDOWS LOGIN NAME> \AppData\Local\Xequte\DVD PixPlay

Jim and Nigel, thanks for your help.
50% of the problems are solved. The good news is that I was able to create an excellent DVD disc, which was my main goal. Unfortunately, I don't know how it happened. I wanted to create the logfile, so I tried to burn a DVD just as I had the other day, but this time it worked! The previous failures occurred on two different days, so I can't think how this last time is different. But, as long as it works, I'm happy.
However, I still can't create a VCD disk. I tried creating a disk with the "Disk at once" option and got the following message:
CdvdBurnerGrabber_VideoCDC() failed,exception16, status0,text""
Although I'me very happy that I can now write DVD discs, I'd also like to option of CD, if that's possible.
Jim, I downloaded the MCI tester, but don't see how to use it as relevant to this problem. Could you please expand on that.

If the success or failure of disk burning is random check that you are using the same brand of disks and/or reduce your burning speed.
Regarding the CD burning, did you try all the write methods?

If you have a format which you cannot play in DVD PIXPLAY but can play in other software on your system, then it is possible that another MCI driver is being used, which is causing problems.
Please download the MCI Tester, run it. Select the option to reset the Widows PLAYER defaults. Many multimedia programs try to take over the showing of the media files and this program that Nigel developed years ago returns Windows to its proper settings.
After you reboot your system try burning the slideshow again.
