I have come to the end of my rope. I just tried sending an e-mail to 27 addresses and i"m getting socket errors again. What good is this software if it doesn't work?
I have not heard from you about answer from logs already sent you. |

Hi Sam
Sorry I thought you said earlier in this thread that you had resolved the problem by setting the mail encoding to default. Is that not the case?
> I checked the e-mail encoding drop-down menu and it was set at automatic. > I set it to default and it looks like everything is now okay. When a version is > updated, is this a setting set to "automatic" by the new version?

I thought it was working too because I was able to send mail at the time I wrote those words. Then, without any changes, I couln't send mail yesterday. My last attempt before I gave up was to see if using the MLK SMTP will work. But, it times out and doesn't make the connection.
The help notes doesn't have enough guidance, so I ask. Step by step, how to set options to send through your SMTP system? |

Hi Sam
If MLK can send test messages, but not regular messages then clearly something on your system or ISP is intercepting based on Spam or worm blocking rules.
There is no configuration required in MailList King to use the internal mail server, but you need to check your ISP does not block port 25 and that nothing is blocking the internal server on your system:

Change back to regular SMTP and then check the following:
1. Think very hard about what changed between when MLK worked correctly and when it stopped. E.g. did you change your firewall or a/v software?
2. You say MLK sends correctly if you send to a test recipient, but not to multiple recipients. If you send to a group that only contains one recipient, does it work?
3. I assume you did go into View > Options, Sending and try sending individual messages
4. Try going into View > Options, Sending, Other Sending Options, Advanced and change the "Identify software" option
5. Try changing the SMTP engine:
a. Run MLK and click Ctrl+Shift+I to display your key folders b. Check the settings folder and click OK c. CLOSE MAILLIST KING d. Double-click the settings.ini file to open it in Notepad e. Find the line: AlwaysUseMultiThreadSMTPEngine=False And change it to: AlwaysUseMultiThreadSMTPEngine=True f. Click Save
Also, if you have Outlook installed, see if you can get Outlook to send. You could then have MLK send its messages via Outlook.
