Hello,
Problem 1: For all my emails I use MS WORD to make the text and copy/paste it in MLK (last version). Very often extra blank lines are inserted in the email that people receive. I don't see these extra blank lines in my preview. Very annoying... Any idea how I can prevent this?
Problem 2: Over the years I have built up a nice database with all emails that I already sent in the past, using MLK. To gain time I often copy parts of older emails (saved in an Outlook folder) into my new emails. * Often extra blank lines are inserted (like in problem1). Very difficult to remove them, sometimes font size/color/... change automatically. * Sometimes it's impossible to change the font, color or size of the text that I just pasted from an older email. Any solution here?

Hi Nigel,
I work with version 8.05R Business Edition. But... I already suffer with these problems from the very beginning, with the earlier versions. I always managed more or less to correct the emails by deleting extra lines and send trial emails to myself but this takes a lot of time and still I sometimes forget to delete a line. For the font colors/size that I can't edit: this has also been from the beginning...
I hope this will help you to localize the problem.

Hi Mark
It sounds like the common factor here is Word (if you are using Outlook 2007 then you are using Word as an email editor too). Word has a habit of adding a lot of extraneous data into its HTML which we strip out to make it more consistent (further improved in v8.02).
Perhaps you can email me a Word document with the steps needed to reproduce the issue.
We also create our newsletters in Word and paste them into MLK for delivery but have not seen any display issues.
Also, can you confirm that you get a different result from clicking the Preview button on the sending toolbar and what is viewed at the result (which could indicate some kind of encoding issue).

Hello Nigel,
I was not aware of your reply (I forgot to subscribe to the topic ) Yes I use Outlook 2007 and Word as editor.
In fact now I see that no extra lines are added but the line spacing is sometimes increased. I noticed an even stranger thing: * When I open the emails on my PC (with outlook 2007) the line spacing has increased. My colleague (also Vista + Outlook 2007) has the same problem. * When I open the file on my older PC (with Outlook 2002) the line spacing is correct.
I will send you an example on your personal email.
Best Regards, Mark |
