Hello,
We have been a long time user with MLK in our office and at the moment I am trying to figure out how to use the unsubscribe feature that MLK has.
Our normal routines are gathering e-mails from a database based on what preferences they select to be notified on about a job and we send an e-mail out to them. We have an opt out link at the bottom of every e-mail.
The problem is when a user opts out, which takes them to our website and lets them unsubscribe it is not linked to MLK in anyway. So if for some reason we search that database again, and pick up say 300 e-mail addresses and one of those users have unsubscribed before through our website, they will get another e-mail.
So the dilemma here is how I can get MLK to detect e-mail addresses I might put in the BCC field when I send out an e-mail and to automatically remove that e-mail address who has unsubscribed in the past with us.
Let me know if I sound confusing, any help would be appreciated. |

So as long as I add all unsubscribed email recipients in the blocked addresses under options and as long as I send my email using Mail List King it will automatically filter out anyone who has unsubscribed?
Is it possible for MailList King to check all recipients when I am sending my email using outlook's send email feature instead of through Mail List King?
Just want to make sure I got this right. |

Hi
It is easier than that. If you go into View > Options, Blocking and set:
Unsubscribed Members: Cannot join the mailing list
Then MLK will automatically prevent anyone who unsubscribed in the past from being added to your list. Then when you send with MailList King they will not be included.
(Another way is when sending with MLK, click the "To" button and choose the option, Excluded Recipients: Anyone in the unsubscribers list).
If you send via Outlook it is not really possible for MLK to control the recipients that Outlook adds. What method do you use to create your list of recipients when you send in Outlook?
Also, if you send from Outlook you miss out on many of MLK's great sending benefits: - Automatically breaking up your messages so they do not have many recipients - Personalizing your messages, e.g. with the recipient's name - Blocking recipients by rule (e.g. already sent to in the last 7 days) or who have unsubscribed in the past - History (knowing what message have been sent to whom) - etc.

Hi
Firstly you need to get your unsubscribes into MailList King, so when they come from your web site and arrive in your email software you need to have MailList King process those messages (e.g. if it is a web form, you can use the Web form action to process them as unsubscribes, or you can put them all into a folder and have MLK go through that folder and messages it finds there as unsubscribes).
This will remove any of those addresses from your list and add them to the "Removed" list (which is under View > Options, Removed). You can also import into this list.
Under View > Options, Blocking, enable the option to block any members who have unsubscribed in the past.
Will that work with your sending workflow?

Is it possible to send an email through MLKing and then have it go off the "Blocked Addresses List" to make sure it doesn't send any emails to those specified in the "Blocked Addresses List"?

Hi
If you click the "To" button on the message sending dialog there is a checkbox to exclude any members in the "removed members" list. There is not an option to exclude those on the blocked list.
