Please help..
I can no longer receive pictures that I add with this new version 7.02 when sending them to my customers.
I send 3 emails weekly & in the description I use to add many pictures so the customers see them along with the synopsis now when sending to all members they do NOT receive the pictures they just get the description please help.
How can this be? Before this version all members received the pics regardless of hotmail or not now NOBODY gets them even authentic accounts not just hotmail.
Thank you Chris
Cheers Chris

Hi Chris
There's been no change to the sending engine in v7.02.
What version were you using previously? What method are you using to add your pictures to your message? Under View>Options, Sending, what sending method have you selected?
Please also email me the log file for this sending task.
(Run MLK and click Ctrl+Shift+I. Choose the option to display your database folder and then browse to the folder "SendLogs". In that folder your log files are named "mail_sent_*.txt" with the date of the delivery included in the name. Find the files of the relevant date and send them to me).

Hi Nigel, please check your email just sent you the files..
Don't know what version the previous one was, I just upgraded to the new one as soon as you sent it to me on Feb 2nd.
Method? I just enter the synopsis of a movie & then go to the top of the page where it says "insert image" and then I pick an image that I've saved in my pictures folder which has alwas worked before. It shows that the image DOES get inserted, I can see the image there before I send it out but once sent the receiver does NOT see the image just the synopsis.
Please tell me what am I doing wrong I'm going crazy here & I have sent hundreds of emails using your software before It's just now that images do not appear on the other end.
Thank you kindly.

Nigel,
also please tell me why I CANNOT send an attached file that I have composed in microsoft word?
Before I purchased this email program from you I was using word to compose the email which always allowed me to insert pictures & I would prefer to compose it with word again if all possible & then send it with MLK & believe me I tried but to no avail.
If I attch a file it will not send it with the rest of the email.
If I copy & paste the info I have composed in word it does copy & paste into a blank MLK ready to send but does NOT copy the images just the text...boy I'm confused.

Hi Chris
I've just emailed you with details on sending me a test message.
The attachment problems sounds like the same issue. For some reason the attachments (which includes embedded images) are not being sent.
Have you tried changing your sending method (under View>Options, Sending).

I seem to be having a somewhat similar problem with this latest version apprarently not displaying html pages in webmail programs.
The same html message eg 'seasons greeting' including html text and images, displayed perfectly in web-based email in the previous version but now, with post-Christmas MLK V7.02, it now just appears as weblinks and plain text. I have tried turning off MLK spellchecking, tried both opening (loading) the file and directly pasting the webpage created in Frontpage, but the result is always the same - the html email displays fine in Outlook but just as html text and links to the images in at least three web-mail programs.
I am pretty sure this is MLK related because the same saved webpage displays correctly in web-mail programs when mailed directly from Outlook, but not when sent via MLK.
I did notice that the order of HTML image tags (eg alt text, border, etc) seems to be rearranged when the webpage-email is received, compared to the original.
Any help would be appreciated.
Best regards,
Martin Colwell.

Following up from my previous posting, it appears that a file winmail.dat is accompanying the MLK- posted html emails, when viewed in webmail programs, but does not appear to be included when they are downloaded to Outlook. This file does not appear when posting the html file directly from Outlook. Perhaps this unexpected attachment is causing the webmail programs not to display the html email correctly?
Regards,
Martin Colwell.

Hi Martin
Thank you for the information. We have investigated the issue and can now reproduce it on a test machine.
It appears that code that we added in v7.02 to ensure compatibility with Outlook 2007 can cause this issue to happen when sending via certain versions of Outlook with embedded images. We expect to have an official resolution in the next day or two. In the meantime, if you are sending with embedded images, please use SMTP or email us for an early update.

Hi Nigel - apologies if this is going over old ground but i would like to confirm or otherwise that the problem i am experiencing is the same as those already described. i create html newsletters and used to simply 'send page by email' through Outlook. we recently started using MLK on trial and our first bulk newsletter ended up garbled, with images removed and stacked up below the text, links missing, etc. i re-tested yesterday and have confirmed that when sent directly from Outlook the message is received OK on webmail but via MLK its not. sounds similar to the problems discussed already... what are my options as i am still trialling the software and this is a bit of a deal breaker for us? will the upgrade sort it? cheers m. |

Hi Marcus
If you are using v7.02, sending via Outlook and your embedded images are showing as attachments and/or containing a Winmail.dat extension then you need to download a newer version.
We'll be sending out download links later today. If you don't receive one go to:

Hi Marcus, I have just tried V7.05 and it now seems to be sending my HTML emails correctly formatted when viewed in webmail programs.
Thank you Nigel for such quick work to resolve this issue. I'm very happy with your support.

Hi Martin
We released a further update today. It is listed as v7.10 to make it obvious that it is an important update. We'll be sending out download links shortly.

Hi Marcas
So every day of your evaluation it has shown Day 1 of 60? What version of Windows do you use?
