Hello,
I need for be able to format the line of the sender to the following example:
[mailing list name] on behalf of [real sender] <listemail@domain.com>
So more specifically, if I have a mailing list called "Pretty Good List" and my name is Nicko I should be able to see:
Pretty Good List on behalf of Nicko <listemail@domain.com>
I hope this makes sense. Can we somehow accomplish this?
Thanks.

Hi Nicko
I'm afraid that is not possible at present, but we will have custom sender name text for a coming update.

Just exactly where is this option and could you be more specific about it's use and implementation? |

Hi
1. Select View>Member Sending, Other Member Sending Options. 2. From the Sender Name box choose the custom option 3. Specify your text using any of the following variables: %GROUP%, %FULLNAME%, %FIRSTNAME% and %LASTNAME%
e.g. (per your request)
%GROUP% on behalf of %FULLNAME%

Thanks, this seems to be working "most" of the time. However, occasionally "member" appears where the full name %fullname% should appear. Does MLK substitute the word "member" under certain conditions? The member sending the email is in the database with a full name. BTW, the member was added by the administrator. |

Hi
By default MLK does not read the details of the user from the database, but rather only uses details extracted from the message, so if name is not found in the From address it will use the default value for %FULLNAME% (which you can set in the message editor, for instance, by clicking the Personalize buttons and choosing Set Field Defaults).

Thanks, I'm beginning to understand. Looking at Default Field Values I see that the default for FullName is %EMAIL_USER_NAME%. I really want the default value of FullName to be the full name from the database rather than the name from the email. To what do I set the default value of FullName to achieve this? Bob |

Hi Bob
In v10.11 (ready next week) MLK will retrieve the sender's name from the database if it is not specified.

Nigel, Thanks for the reply and adding this feature. Now... can the use of the database name be activated for ALL member sent email, even those with a name in the email address? Bob |
