I am trying to work out a way to get captions to work
with photos in a pleasing and entertaining way. I never
like caption on the photos as they take something away from
the photo so I like to use them after the photo. But I don't
want just a text file but a interactive text file where you see
each letter pop onto the screen and though an invisible typist
was typing each keystroke. I don't think that should be difficult
to do but has anybody done it?

I've heard of user's uploading their slideshows to YouTube, but I don't have any links other than those that mention their use of PixPlay:

Re captions/headers: I have been using ULead Cool3D to make quite elaborate moving text and other effects (you can also set up one of your photos as a background and show the text effects over the photo) and then you can export as an .AVI movie file which of course goes straight into DVD PixPlay. To merge as seamlessly as possible I add the last .AVI frame as a JPEG, and cross fade into the start of the photo display. I have also been trying to do the same with Anim-FX which only exports as a flash .SWF format, but have had difficulty finding a satisfactory (cheap) application to do the necessary conversion from .SWF to .AVI as PixPlay does not accept .SWF.
Pity there is not a website to display individual examples: good easy project for someone ?

Hi

There is not an easy way to do that at present. You could add a letter to each subsequent frame with a quick display time (e.g. 1 second). But it would be quite a bit of work.

OKay thanks for the reply!

That is no biggie, another thing would be nice to scroll
text like they do in the Star Wars movie at the intro.
These are items that a software designer could add to a wish list.

Here is another question of general nature.
It would be of merit to see what other Pixplay owners have done
with their productions. Is there a website where we can go see them?
Maybe somebody uploaded to Youtube. I'd like to talk to someone about
using a Pixplay file at a Website.

You can make a title frame in Windows Movie Maker and save it as a MPEG and then insert it into your PixPlay show. I have done this and it works well, even the Stars Wars effect.
