Hi

I have discovered a major bug in the latest version of MLK using Vista.

In the Save File dialogue box, there is the option to save the file as a "Cruise Control Message (*.xmsg)" by default in the file type box. This of course prevents display of the list of previously saved files. I have no idea what a Cruise Control Message type is?

Unfortunately, on clicking the file type spinner there is no option to save as *.mlk file, or even all file types *.*

This effectively prevents re-saving of a previously saved file without going to windows explorer to discover the name of the previously saved version?

This is a very bad bug.

I also notice that the usual Windows CTRL S save shortcut does not work when viewing a message, so it is not possible to save a file using this shortcut.

In the menu bar and pull down menu, there is no straight Save button, or icon, which is usual in any windows task bar. It seems to force a Save As, but then then the above problems occur.

It would be SO useful to have a standard Windows task bar with Save, Save As, Print, Undo, Redo, Open, Close, New File. Having these drop down menus really does not work.

This is a major bug, which seriously hinders using this upgrade.

Can you please urgently get someone to test this out in Vista and other Windows Versions.

I can confirm those bugs to exist on Windows XP (SP2) as well.

Christoph

Hi Barry and Christoph

We are aware of the Save name bug and will be fixing it shortly. In the meantime you can save it to Cruise Control message file, which is the same as an MLK Message file.

Type *.* in the filename box to see older *.mlk files.

You can use Ctrl+S to Save As quickly, and we will consider a standard Save command for v7.01

The message sending toolbar in v6 was too complex, and so lesser used functions were demoted to the drop down menu.

HI Nigel

*.* typed into the filename box does not produce a list of older files.. it seems to do nothing at all?

CTRL S is also not working on my screens, in Vista certainly.

Hmmm, that's weird. Vista should support *.*

At any rate, v7.01 won't be far away.
