Is there a way to open up and view .dpg files - I created some composite slides using "title frame". Now the program can't load them but when I search they are there on the computer but as a .dpg file that I can't view - I made so many of them (20+) that I can't remember what each one contains.
As ever, your help is appreciated.
Regards

Thanks for your prompt reply (hit the wrong button previously, sorry about that!)
I downloaded the Free Viewer as you suggested but it didn't open the .dpg file created with PixPlay. It said it had to be created with a binary file ?
Can the file be reformatted?

Sorry, I thought you had some .dpg files created by some other program and you wanted to view them. I assume you are having a problem with .dpg files created in DVD PIXPLAY and you will have to give more information to Nigel to solve that problem,

The term binary file is used to indicate a file that is not a plain text file. If you open a binary file in an application that displays the raw contents of a file, such as a plain text editor, you will see a bunch of weird characters that make no sense. You can only work with such files in a meaningful way using software that can decode the file's format. Picture files such as BMP or JPG files are binary files.

Hi Hugh

You should be able to view DPG files by adding them to your project (e.g. by dragging and dropping them on the main PixPlay window).

Are you having problems when you do that?

Hello Nigel
That is the problem - when I try to add the .dpg file I get an error message saying it couldn't be opened. I has been switching back and forth between desktop and laptop but the file was on the machine I was using, it just would not open. As I go through the procedure to add I get the message that xxx.jpg can't be located (it is there!) so it may be a problem caused by changing drives.
I did resolve the problem by re-creating the title frame and it now works OK - I was just wondering, for the future, if there was an easier way.
I keep recommending this program to others so hope you are getting some orders!
Regards
Hugh.

Hi Hugh

Thank you for your recommendations

If an image that is used within a DPG file is missing (e.g. has been moved) then DVD PixPlay should either prompt you for the location of it or just show the page without the image (depending on the way the image is used).

I will look into the issue for the next update to see why it is not doing that. Perhaps you can email me the problematic DPG file for analysis.
