| Help. I have made 2 DVDs on Pixplay. Both play fine on the computer but neither will play on the DVD connected to my TV. The message I get is that I can't play that type of disk on this machine. But I have burned several other DVD's that are exactly the same (DVD+R)with the same computer using other programs and they play fine on that DVD player/TV. What am I doing wrong? |

What version of DVD PixPlay are you using?
What format did you choose when selecting File>Burn Slideshow?

Hi
Did you choose the DVD format or DVD+Images? DVD is the best format for compatibility with DVD players.

I had the same problem with the 3 dvd players she has. I took a lot of time to make slideshows and take to my daughter's house out of state, and to my dismay, NONE of the players would play the show. They were all different brands too. Since then I have tried burning on dvr-r, dvd-rw, cd-r, cd-rw, and none will play them.
My dvd player will play them all, so I find it strange that not ONE of hers would play it.
I chose the option you list for the best compatability..I think it was VCR? Should I have done something else when I went to burn it? |

Since your slideshow plays on your DVD player it would indcate that there is nothing wrong with DVD PIXPLAY. Please follow the link below for answer regarding compatability of DVD players and disc.

I did go there once and typed in the model of her main player, which is a Toshiba D-R2.
I don't quite understand all the charts it lists, but could you tell me exactly how to burn a show it would read? Which burning format to choose, which type of cd to choose? |

You can ONYLY USE DVD FORMAT on this player. It will only play DVD-R or DVD-RW. So if you are using a CD it will never play on this player.

I tried both of those...dvd-r, and dvd-rw and they did not work. But I think I chose a VCD format.
So when I get to the point where I want to burn it, I go to the advanced options and choose another format besides VCD? It's been a while since I burned one, and don't remember what the choices were at that point. If you could tell me exactly what to choose, I'd appreciate it. I'm tired of wasting blanks.

To Choose DVD Format cklick the "Burn Disc" Button in the window that opens Select the option "DVD format" (on the drop down menu)
that should do the trick.

P.S. Check The DVD Media on which you burn to make shure its a good quality. Sometimes Cheep quality media can cause a similar problem.
so see you Buy a known brand from a reliable source.
