Hiya Nigel

I have followed pretty closely the FAQ instructions for creating a marketing type of campaign (FAQ No.56).

I have created two folder processing tasks - one to Add a member to a Group and the second to delete the member from a previous, original joined double opt-in Group. I have also added Acknowledgements to the new Group to send out immediately and then a delayed message. (Basically, an immediate Thank You for purchasing, followed by an Upsell e-mail).

However, I have encountered two problems.

Firstly, when automatically processing the tasks and correctly moving the subscriber to the new Group the automatic Acknowledgments are NOT being sent, nor are any delayed messages. It seems that automatic tasks are not trigerring automated messages.

Secondly, when processing the task to delete the subscriber from the original Group, for some reason it is concatenating the User Name and the User E-mail (and, of course, failing to find the user in the database). Basically, it is reading th e-mail as PeterBanksinfo@irishdogs.ie INSTEAD of Peter Banks<info@irishdogs.ie> as it should. Sounds like a parsing error which shows up in the History Error file.

Finally, although not a bug report - I would like to automate the system so that there is only ONE instance of any subscriber in the Database and not spread over several Groups as they move from one Group to another. What I have, to explain, is one massive Main Group and as subscribers fill out their details using a Web Form (E-mail address, First and Last Name) they are moved from the main Group to a 'Purchased' Group. I don't want to allow duplicates and want to be able to use their 'updated' details from the 'Purchased Group' fields.

If I check members can belong to Multiple Groups I am told that this will not cause duplicate sending e-mails as this is checked beforehand. However, which Group or Member ID is checked for its uniqueness - I only want the most up-to-date subscription with their in-filled Web Form used?

Hope this isn't too long and I haven't posed any illogical questions!

Hi Peter

1. Under View>Options, Incoming, click the "Folder Processing Tasks" and check the acknowledgement option is checked at the bottom.

2. Hmmm. I can't see how that would be occuring, i'll need to send you some debugging info

3. Presently if you use the option that blocks members from appearing in multiple groups then they remain in their first group, because further attempts to subscribe (to other groups) would be blocked. Perhaps there should be an option that the user is always put in the last group they subscribed to.
