Hello, I am considering purchase of this product, but would like to know when next release will be, and what improvements/features are likely to be included.

I would like to include video clips with option to turn original audio on or off with or without background music. Is this likely with next release.

Also, does your software include tutorials for various tasks, such as importing music files, pictures or clipart from various sources. It would also be nice to have a tutorial or wizard to help you create the correct output format for viewing on various devices (pc,tv,dvd) and what features each format supports or lacks.

Currently I have been able to produce a few slideshows with other software with mixed results. One of my main objectives is to be able to share pictures and video clips (w/wo music) of our club's monthly outings on a quarterly basis using a stand alone download on my laptop with a projector. I would also like to be able to title/subtitle slides to separate outings and events using various fonts and text styles. The ability to add text baloons would also be a nice feature. At the end of the year I would like to compile them all (without having to recreate each quarterly project) onto vcd? or DVDs that most of our members could view on their pc's or DVDs at home. I am using a Sony DVD r/rw, dvd+rewritable device to burn discs using Nero software. One program I tried came close, but picture quality was poor.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Christopher

There will be an update in the next few weeks and a bigger release towards the middle of the year. The update will just include some minor improvements. I can't comment on the big release because it is confidential (regular readers of this forum will undoubtedly be able to guess our priorities for it).

At present with video you can have video soundtrack or background music, but not both. Improving that is on the to-do list, but unlikely to be included in the short term.

We don't have tutorials available, other than the general one at:

http://www.xequte.com/pixplay/tutorial.html

If you have some specific difficultly let me know and we can create something.

A wizard is available when you burn your slideshow and does give information on each format supported. More detail is also available in the Help file.

DVD PixPlay should be able to do all the items you outline, including support for text bubbles (by clicking the Add Text button). Probably DVD or DVD+Images is the best format for you.

Hi Nigel,
Thanks for your prompt reply. I read some of your other postings to help people and was impressed with the support you offer and the timeliness of your replies. I think I will try the current version of Pix Play and wait for the update. Based on other replies to this column, it sounds like the program I'm looking for.

I have not had time to check, but was wondering if Execute offers realtime text support also or are you their primary Guru for solving problems through this forum.

Thanks again and tell your boss he's not paying you enough!
Chris
