Hi, Nigel. I asked you the following question before and you gave a response that worked. Why can’t I make it work now?:

"In My Pictures file, for certain folders, e.g. one called “Zoo”, I have renamed all the pictures using the rename function under the FILE tab. This results in the first picture being labeled “zoo”, the second “zoo (1)”, the third “zoo(2)”, etc.

"When I ask your program to add the pictures from that folder, it resequences them. If there are 30 pictures, for example, it starts with 1, then goes to 11 through 19, then 2, then 20 through 29, then 3, then 30, then 4 through 9. In order to get around that, I have to manually rename the first nine as 01 through 09. If I have over 100 pictures, which I do in some folders, I have to rename the first 99 with leading zeros in order to keep them in order in the slide show."

Your response was to drag and drop the pictures from Windows Explorer. I tried this again. I go to My Pictures, open the file in question, select all, hold the cursor down with the mouse and drop them into the Slideshow Frames area. They still end up resequenced as described above.

Hi Jim

That's a fix for some systems that do not cope correctly with the sort order for dragged selections. When you use Add Images, are you able to sort by date to get them in the order you want?

Unfortunately, no. These pictures were assembled from many sources, including scans, and put in order by the approximate date they were taken (grandchildren from birth to age 4!).

Hmmm, OK. We have plans to emulate the XP/Explorer sorting method in a coming update.

You might want to batch rename your files so that they have leading zeros using a file renamer (or our Smart Pix or MegaView).
