v7.0 / I have problems to position images on an album page, because the selection area (the dashed box) is not propotional to the image.

When you resize an image or drag and drop a new image on the page, the box could have a different form then the image form (I use a white border with shadow, without text). It needs a lot of time for every image to set the box exactly around the image.

This is important because the box ist important for the alignment. But a person who looks on the album page can not see the box and so the borders of the images are often not in one line.

Second question: Why does the programm not delete the images file when I delete the image in the album? Do I have to delete them myself?

Thank you!

Hi

1. It is by design that the display area for an image is not tied to the image ratio. This is becuase the ratio of the album page is not set (e.g. may be 4:3 when full screen or 1:1 if the user drags the window around), so it is unproductive to try and make the ratio of the display area match the ratio of the image.

If you have two images on a page with the same sized display areas then they will be in alignment (assuming they are both portrait or both landscape).

2. That is a fair question. The answer is that we made the decision when developing Diji Album that it would be completely safe. In other words, that it would be better that we leave a few unused images in a project folder than delete an image that a user may or may not have other copies of.

The main example that comes to mind is a user retrieving images from a camera with Diji Album and then deleting them from the camera. Thus the images in the project folder may be the only copies that exist.

Hello!
I have got the same problem with positioning images accurately....Could it not be solved by Xequte, in the next update, incorporating an option to position an image exactly on a specific x and y axis, in other words, in an exact position on the page and also give the size of the image and the option to resize it(like on finds in many Drawing- or DTP programs)

kind regards
Lori

Hi Lori

You can achieve this already by enabling the setting (in Album Properties) of a set Album size. Then the objects will always be displayed at position that you put them (as long as the album is displayed on a screen that is big enough to show the page at the size you chose).
