Posted - Aug 31 2011 : 18:40:25 We are experiencing a recurring issue with MLK. We have a few different sources for generating clients. While importing client data from these sources, we've found that for contacts originally in our database from a previous source who are imported into a new "group" from another source, all the initial data for that contact is completely over-written, leaving us at a loss in terms of contact tracking and in some cases, losing some client contact information altogether. (Ex. Jane Doe imported in June to Group A with Phone No, email, street address and client comments from source 1; Jane Doe is then imported in July to Group B with only email and different phone number from source 2. In this situation, we've found that Jane is moved into Group B, and we loose her physical address, original phone numebr and client comments). To your knowledge, is there a work around or fix for this type of problem? |

That is unusual, as MLK's default behaviour is only to update changed fields.
E.g. when importing a contact such as Jane Doe, if Jane Doe already exists in the mailing list then only the new detail should be recorded (i.e. an address should not be cleared if the new contact has no details).
What version are you using?
