Posted - Dec 01 2010 : 13:42:05 Do you support "/cgi-bin/cgiemail" for scripts? Somehow I can't make it work, well it's my first attempt, but don't know what is wrong.
Tks in advance, Hans |

Posted - Dec 08 2010 : 02:54:31 Hi Nigel - Well, I'm sorry for my many requests, but it finally turned out that my provider made a mistake in the mailform.pl, it now works perfectly.
The advantage of such exchanges is that a person like me can learn quite a few technical details and understand a bit what's going on behind the scene, how to debug, etc. I'm a bit IT insofar as I've developed MS-Access databases since version 1.0 in 1993, which is the reason why I've chosen your product, so I will now open a new post topic, asking you how to connect with MLK from Access, what driver?
Tks, Hans

Posted - Dec 07 2010 : 14:56:31 Hi Hans
I received your debug log. At the time that you generated it there were zero items in the folder, “MyMail\_Projects”.
Please enable logging then move one your submission messages into that folder and click “Check Now”
Then select Help > Email Support
Your default action should be "SUBSCRIBE" to add the contact to your mailing list

Posted - Dec 07 2010 : 02:50:13 Hi Nigel,
Yes, the email addresses are delivered to a specific email processing location, under Options -> Email Processing...
But messages are ignored, even when formmail.pl confirms having sent the message.
I misunderstood "Post" which is at the beginning of the script "form method", but "action" is defined as "SUBSCRIPTION".
But it doesn't work - any help?
Tks in advance, Hans |

Posted - Dec 05 2010 : 19:54:44 Hi Hans
Are the email addresses being delivered to one of your email processing locations (i.e. as specified under View > Options, Email Processing)?
After MLK processes the folder (e.g. by you selecting List > Check for New Mailing List Messages) are the messages deleted or ignored?
Post has no meaning to MLK so you might want to email me a screenshot of what you are seeing.
(To create a screenshot display the program with the problem visible then select PrintScreen (or PrtScr) on the top of your keyboard. Using Microsoft Word or an image editor such as Paint, select Paste. Save the file, if possible as a JPEG if you are using an image editor and send it to us)

Posted - Dec 03 2010 : 13:39:26 In the meantime, the formmail.pl is installed, I've used the wizard to create the web form, the formmail.pl URL is correct, the recipient mail address also, and I've added my input-name subject value to the list of Web Form Subjects under options > Web Forms... no error message, but the MailListKing disregards my test mails, nothing is added to the list (subscribed) and the recipient address receives no message.
Also: what's the difference between "subscribe" and "post" which latter is the default when using "Quick Subscribe" option with the wizard...?
Tks for your help, Hans

Posted - Dec 02 2010 : 10:28:51 Thanks, in the meantime I've found out that they were using an outdated, soon-to-be-removed tool, they are going to install the formmail.pl script now.... |

Posted - Dec 01 2010 : 20:15:12 Hi Hans
MLK should support any web form that generates an email.
Please see:
http://www.xequte.com/support/maillistking/webforms.html
And if you have any difficulty, paste an example message that you receive from your web form script.
