I just got a new computer.... I back up the entire MLK database in prep for this.

I see all the files in my folder... however when I attempt to open the file.. I get an unknow or unexpected datase engien error #12035 error.... it asks it I want to repair it... I say yes.. and I still get the same error.

I then tried to do import from a file... and it opens many files.... not sure what to select out of the folder.

I want to restore both the customers information as well as the settings.

Hi

So you have a folder that contains mlk_*.* files? And when you open the folder using File > Open Mailing List DB you get the error that you mention?

Are the files in that folder too big to zip up and email to me?

I will send an email with screenshots of what I see.
Format is the same in both folders.

Nigel,

I did the Ctrl, Alt I.. funcion.
Copied my files for all three folders.
Located where the new folder was on the new computer..

HOWEVER.

When I opened up both the new computer MLK folder and the backed up file... I dont see a settings "folder".

Also please advise.... Whenever i do find these folders... am I adding the backed up files to the new computer folder or over writing/deleting and replacing?

Hi

The correct method to move your database and settings to a new computer:

1. Run MailList King on the old machine and click Ctrl+Shift+I. This will display the two important folders for MailList King (configuration and database).

2. Install MailList King on your new computer, run it and click Ctrl+Shift+I. This will show you where MailList King is saving your configuration and database on the new computer

3. Close MailList King

4. Copy your all of the files in your settings folder from Step 1 to the settings folder on the new computer from Step 2

5. Do the same for your database files
