Hi Nigel,

You told us to expect some glitches but I think I may be experiencing one after installing v8.60R over the previous version a couple of days ago. Since then, each time I opened Outlook 2007, I received an error message:

"MailListKing, Mailing List Management Software error: the add-in has fired an exception. OLE error 800A01A8".

It seems I can still send messages out via MLK though, although having trouble with keeping HTML integrity (i.e. document created in Dreamweaver and uploaded into MLK -- formatting is off and images do not show.)

You may tell me I need some debugging info.

Hi Nigel,

I just want to say a huge THANK YOU for responding so quickly and providing not only a solution but a whole version upgrade! My earlier issue in regard to a conflict between unicode vs encoded html files seems to be all resolved. Now all my embedded images come through perfectly in my broadcast emails!

All the best!!

Hi

Can you please send me the original dreamweaver file (so i can follow your steps above to reproduce the issue).

Thanks, Nigel, but I didn't delete those images. They are located in a permanent folder in MY DOCUMENTS. I kept the newly created stationery HTML file in USER STATIONERY.

But I just checked if the images were retained by retrieving the stationery HTML file I created last night within MLK, having INSERTED IMAGES then SAVING AS STATIONERY. The images didn't not come through.

I wonder why??

Hi

MLK points to embedded images in their current locations, so if you create a message and then delete the images associated with it they will be unavailable when you next load the image.

Ensure that if you are creation stationery files containing images that you save the images you are going to use to a permanent folder and then add them to your stationery HTML file.

You reminded me to restart the whole system which I did, and the error message no longer appeared. Thanks!!

But how about preserving images in HTML? I have spent time trying to figure this out on my own but without success. Here is what I have done:

1. I created a HTML file in Dreamweaver with text and images.
2. In MLK, I composed a blank message, found the html file from FILE > OPEN. Message opens on screen. Test recipient field filled in.
3. Before sending, I made sure to INSERT IMAGES on each and every jpg.
4. Images and text came through fine on PREVIEW.
5. I saved the message as stationery with SAVE AS STATIONERY. I then sent the message.
6. Next time when I called up the same STATIONERY file, the images appeared on screen. BUT when I previewed it, the images were replaced by blank boxes.

I thought that by inserting images previously before saving as stationery, I should be 'safe' in using the saved stationery.

I hope that doesn't mean that I have to manually insert images each time I want to use that same stationery file. Or did I not do something I should have?

Hi

It sounds like the MLK toolbar plug-in in Outlook is failing. Does it still happen when you restart Windows?

This is not specifically related to v8.60R as that code has not changed since v8.05. What version were you using previously?
