Nigel, the update I received this AM was perfectly timed, I was going to submit a request looking for a solution to the HTML corruption problem for my first mailing since the 8.0 upgrade. In my case, the embedded CSS styles were stripped out when I previewed the message before mailing.

BTW, what time zone are you in, I'm UTC -5 (US EST)?
