Posted - Feb 25 2009 : 07:34:05 Okay, from a previous post, I know that the blocking list is not shared as a database--why is this? Anyhow, I added MLK to a new computer and because of this--since it is shared with another workstation, the blocking list disappeared. Here are my questions:
1. When I rescan a contact folder, it pulls my emails into the database---even those that have been unsubscribed before. I don't understand why this happens, but to make sure everythign is okay, aftergetting the new emails, I exported all of the unsubscirbes from my list. I then imported this into the blocked list. When I did this, the program asked to scan my emails to see if any were on the blokeced list. Sure enough, some were removed.
My question is this: Is there anyway to prevent having to do alll of this? |

If you are sharing a database, you can also share the settings (including the blocking list). On both computers that are accessing the shared database run MLK and select View>Options, Other, Advanced and set the "Each database has unqiue settings" option. This will make MLK read the settings from your database folder.
Note: You should enable the setting last on the computer which already has the settings you want to use.
Secondly, under View>Options, Blocking, you can enable the option that prevents users who have unsubscribed from ever being added back onto the list.
