If you are going to connect to a TV via USB, you need to find out what formats the TV supports. It differs widely by brand. Your best bet would be to output to a video file such as MPEG, MP4, or AVI. A TV should support at least one of these formats.
Otherwise, if you have a laptop, you can just connect the laptop to the TV and then preview the slideshow. If your laptop has an HDMI port then you just need a cable to connect to a TV and then switch to that HDMI input.
