I am using DVD Pixplay v3.0 on a windows 7 machine. I have created many slideshows (approx 40) very sucessfully. However since I changed the user account name on the computer (approx 6 months ago) my old slideshows will no longer preview with my new user account.
If I create a new slideshow now, everything runs OK - it is just the ones created when I was using the original user account. The old slideshows will open without any errors and all pictures and music tracks etc. are present, but when I hit the preview button the program just hangs and eventually comes up with "Not Responding"

Any ideas please?

Hi Gary

Hmmm, it could be possible that you have added text to your photos and PixPlay needs to create a display image. If one already exists, but is dated then PixPlay will want to create a new one in the same folder. However if it does not have adequate permissions then it won't be able to overwrite the existing file.

If this is the case you should right-click the project folder and select Properties. Check that the current user has rights to read/write/modify, etc.

Hi Nigel,

Yes, it says "All of the files used within your project are accessible"

I think that this may be a permissions thing in Windows. If I run DVD Pixplay with my old user's credentials everything runs OK. All of the permissions on all of the files are set to allow full control yet Pixplay projects created under my old user account will not preview (I can access most other functions).

Now that I have figured this out it is more of an annoyance than it preventing me from doing anything, but any suggestions on how to solve this properly will be most appreciated.

Best Regards

Gary

Hi

If you select Edit > Other > Check for Missing Files, is anything returned?

Also, you should download v3.35 or upgrade to the latest version.

V3.35: www.xequte.com/support/serial

Upgrade: www.xequte.com/pixplay/upgrade.html
