Posted - Nov 05 2010 : 09:32:10 Hello, I made a VCD Pix Play some years ago and have lost the pxp project ; now, I would like to make a DVD with it, but I can't open it again as project because it is a MPEGAV/AVSEQ01.DAT , and DVDPIXPLAY does not know this file type. Is there somebody who could tell me how to do to open it as project ? I could burn it as video on a DVD , but I loose in quality, so I would like to burn it as pictures . Thank you very much for your answers. Bye. GISELE |

I'm afraid that once your project has been converted to video then there is no practical way to extract the original frames for reinsertion into another project (particularly with VCD slideshows).

Posted - Nov 07 2010 : 10:25:41 Thanks very much Nigel for your explains, I'll do that soon. But I would want to add them in a new project as pictures jpeg , to be able to work on them with Photofiltre Studio ( as some of them have not very good quality :old pictures); I guess that this option is still not possible ? A pity. Will have to make a new project with the saved pictures , which takes long time , but if I have no choice ... I'll do. Again thanks and bye. Gisèle

VCD .dat files are really MPEG files.
If you rename AVSEQ01.DAT to AVSEQ01.MPEG then you can add it to your project as a video file.
Note: to rename file types in Windows you may need to select Tools > Folder Options, View and uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types"
