Posted - Dec 15 2009 : 08:06:24 I am still working on getting the slideshow so that I can place it in my Pandigital DPF (which requires a MJPEG codec avi file). I have found a free program - Virtualdub with ffdshow codecs added that will convert your DVD file to a MJPEG file.
Since I have only 1 gig of memory on the DPF, I need to make the avi file as small as possible. With you program, with fade tansition on, with 9 images including the title image, the file size is 29 MB and the MJPEG file is 84 mb. With no transion, the file size reduces to 24 MB and the MJPEG file is 77 MB.
With another program I am able to control the frame rate, and am able to obtain file sizes of 40 MD with 15 fps, 28 MB with 10 fps, and 14 MB with 10 fps.
Now we finally come to my question! Can I control frame rate in DVD PixPlay?
Thanks!

I'm afraid there is not an option to control the frame rate, but you can reduce the size of the video that you create which will make the file smaller.
If you choose the video file output option, then on the next screen you can specify the video size.

I am sorry --but your lossing me. WHAT IS THE QUESTION?? Your question was "Can I control frame rate in DVD PixPlay?" and I answer you with "So the answer to your question is No you can not directly control the frame rate other than to decide on PAL OR NTSC."
If you can " make a slide show with music with PhotoStage Slideshow Producer" and it is less MB than I would recommend you use it!!!
Keep in mind the three factors that make up the quality of a video are frame rate, color depth, and resolution. The compression ratio depends on video codec, the quality of the video, and the format of the video.

Posted - Dec 18 2009 : 08:43:15 You are correct in what you say but you are avoiding the reason I asked my question originally.
I can make a slide show with music with PhotoStage Slideshow Producer at 1 fps and convert it to mjpeg with VirtualDuband produce a slide show with music and 128 slides with a size 20.7 MB compared to the same slide show at 15 fps and a size of 219 Mb. You can not tell the difference in the two slide shows listening to or watching them side by side!
With an internal memory of 1 GIG I can place over 5000 slides in internal memory in +/- 50 different slide shows with music and not have to worry about a memory card.
Thanks!

Unless you are trying to convert a PAL format video for playback on an NTSC screen, you typically don't need to concern yourself with the frame rate.
Also, "Since I have only 1 gig of memory on the DPF" I assume you are talking abount the INTERNAL DIGITAL FRAME MEMORY---This is plenty. Most digital frame can use upto 2-4Gig memory cards---so you are talking a least 2-4 hours of video and your slideshow is probably under 10 minutes.
So the answer to your question is No you can not directly control the frame rate other than to decide on PAL OR NTSC.
