Posted - Aug 17 2009 : 11:23:03 I have been adding music to my slideshow aligning to particular frames. However, when I preview, the preview starts at the frame I want but the music doesn't start where it should, e.g. the music starts at frame 6 going on until frame 15. if I preview from frame 10, the music starts at the beginning of the track instead of in the middle. Is there a way around this or do I manually have to make a note of where I want the music? I hope that makes sense - I'm probably missing something really obvious(it is the school holidays and with 4 kids, I can't snatch much time for Pixplay!!) |

Posted - Sep 07 2009 : 21:01:58 Hi
I presume this is when you preview the slideshow and that the music plays normally when you select File > Burn Slideshow and click the "Test" button. Is that correct?
DVD PixPlay uses the drivers on your system for playback of videos and music when previewing If you do not have the relevant drivers or they have been messed up by other software then you will get playback problems.
To resolve the issue install an MP3 codec, such as K-Lite:

or Ffdshow:

Posted - Sep 07 2009 : 16:21:10 I just purchased this software and no matter what I do, the music will not play at all with my slideshow. Help! I have used Arcsoft's DVD slideshow in the past, but it is not compatible with Windows Vista, so I bought this software. Which by the way, it keeps asking me to buy it when I already did...what gives?

Posted - Aug 19 2009 : 02:44:41 Hi, Yes, that's what I did. The music played fine if I started the preview from the beginning but if I started in the middle of a piece of music, it couldn't cope with that and started the music at the beginning of the current tune. |

So you mean that you used the Sync function under Edit > Slideshow Properties, Background music to align the music to your frames, but the preview did not play the music as expected?

Posted - Aug 18 2009 : 04:54:30 Just to add to this. I decided to not use the synch music option although the only way I could find to not use this after beginning to was to delete all my music, save my project without and start again with the music. (Again, it's probably me missing something obvious - I'm usually quite computer literate!) Now I've not used the synch option, the music is fine wherever I start the preview. I now daren't even press the button that lets me synch the music in case it all goes wrong again. Could it be my pc that has caused all this problem for me although it did run perfectly from the beginning of the preview. Regards Liz |

Posted - Aug 18 2009 : 04:39:01 Hi, I have version 5.02. I have so far put about 4 songs on, they are mp3 files that I have shortened with audacity. It happens with them all. I preview my slideshow, then on watching decide to move a slide to coincide with a particular point in the song which is when I would like to preview from that point or maybe a couple of slide before. Regards Liz |

Posted - Aug 17 2009 : 16:00:52 Hi Liz
What version is this in?
Does it only happen with particular songs/music types?
