Posted - Jul 13 2009 : 02:45:19 Hi Matt
In v5 if you have chosen the "Default Transition" option then it will use the effect and time as set for the project as a whole.
How about if you click Ctrl+A to select all of your files, then in the bottom right of the main window you assign "fade-out/fade-in" as the effect to all files.

Posted - Jul 09 2009 : 05:34:26 Nigel: My problem is that I cannot seem to figure out how to (re)set default transition in my project (fade-out, fade-in). Since upgrading to v5.0 the transitions in my (lengthy) project are suddenly in some sort of random mode. I've gone into Edit-Slideshow properties to try and set one particular effect as the default (fade-out/fade-in) and it doesn't seem to have any effect. When I open up "Frame Properties" the project frames' individual "Display transition" time setting remains (I vary that length of time, but not the effect, in a number of frames) BUT it is grayed out and doesn't seem to be operative. And that question mark remains as default. What am I missing here? Thanks for the attention.

Posted - Jul 05 2009 : 12:37:35 Hi Matt
The question mark graphic is for the default transition. It was chosen because it choose an "unknown" transition from those available for the project. It is probably a little confusing given that a question mark in the project means a missing file...

Posted - Jul 03 2009 : 13:06:54 Sorry for what is probably a really basic question, but I cannot figure out the answer. I upgraded to V5, and I lost my transition default. While I use the same transition I do vary the timing for many frames, so I don't want to lose that. How do I reset it for the entire project? It currently just shows a question mark. Thanks.
Matt

Please download the software again.
A minor update we released should resolve the issue.
