Posted - Apr 30 2009 : 14:18:56 I first had PixPlan Vers. 3. It played MP3 audio sound just fine to begin with but just recently refuses to do so with the message: "No MCI device open". I upgraded to Vers. 4.10 . It seems hardly different from Vers. 3, and gives the same error message. Changing the DVD MPEG Setting doesn't help. Suggestions? |

It's invariably a Windows driver problem, so try installing a codec (multimedia driver) pack such as K-Lite:

Posted - Apr 30 2009 : 20:40:15 Thanks for the suggestion to download the MCI tester. Did that, and ran "Reset to defaults", which produced no change in status or operation. Status report was as follows, the problem being with MP3 audio files:
Results for MP3 Format Check: MCI Extension: MPEGVideo Mediaplayer Extension Type: MPEGVideo MCI Driver: This format has no MCI Driver MCI 32-bit Driver: mciqtz32.dll
I have a mass of codecs installed, but can't say that I really know what is going on with them. Joe |
