Posted - Mar 11 2009 : 14:36:58 I have XP, how can I update my windows drivers so I can add narration to my project. I have previewed up until the actual burning and no sound. I am able to add music but not voice. |

It appears you are not recording anything.
Check your microphone is connected correctly.
Display the Windows control panel and open the "Sounds and Audio Devices" item. Under Audio, Sound Recording, click Volume. Check that the connection you are using is selected.

Posted - Mar 13 2009 : 11:11:53 I follwed instructions but when I was recording the green line did not show any activity. Did that mean that it wasn't recording? I saved it in a folder. When I went to my project it was listed but when I previewed no sound. Previewed it in burning, before actually burning, no sound.

Narration is recorded in WAV format, which every Windows version under the sun should play. Are you sure that it is recording correctly? Perhaps it is only recording silence?
Try selecting Start Menu > Accessories > Entertainment > Sound Recorder. Are you able to record with that and play it back?
