Is there a way to add a screen either after the title page or at the end of the slide show that contains just a background color and words or text?

Place the cursor where you want the title page to be and than from the Main Toolbar select EDIT>INSERT TITLE FRAME. Fom the slide that appears on the top of the page you can select the STYLE BOX AND BACKGROUND that you desire.

For more help on the subject --do the following:
In Pixplay click on HELP>CONTENTS>SELECT INDEX
TAB>SCROL DOWN TO TITLE PAGE AND SELECT CREATING
